Linda Campbell hybrid rugosa rose is a hybrid shrub rose in the rose family (Rosaceae). Renowned miniature rose expert Ralph Moore crossed Anytime x Rugosa Magnifica and named it for his collaborator, Linda Campbell. This shrub with arching canes has an upright, bushy habit and grows 4-6' tall and 6-8' wide. Its brilliant red, 3-inch semi-double flowers attract butterflies and bloom in clusters throughout the summer. The wrinkled, semi-glossy leaves are partially resistant to black spot. There are fewer thorns on the stems than on most rugosa roses. Like other rugosa roses, the Linda Campbell can tolerate salt. Plant it in full sun in well-drained, fertile, slightly acidic soil. Remove spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering. Prune as needed in late winter to early spring. Plant the Linda Campbell in a border or hedge, as a specimen, or in small groups.
