Rosa ''Madame Isaac Pereire' is a vigorous climbing rose in the rose family (Rosaceae). It was bred by Armand Garcon and was introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons in 1894. This shrub will grow 6-8 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide and can be trained as a climber. It prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade. For best performance, provide fertile, moist, well-drained soil with an acidic to neutral pH. Mulch will help retain moisture and decrease weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove winter damage and control size. The carmine-pink, large double flowers will repeat bloom through fall. They have a strong raspberry fragrance. The large green gloss leaves are borne on canes with prickles. Use this rose as a large shrub in the back of the border or a specimen. It can also be trained to a trellis or other vertical structure.
