Red Cascade is a hybrid miniature shrub rose in the Rosaceae family that was introduced in 1976 by Ralph S. Moore. Parentage is Rosa wichurana Crépin × Floradora. Red Cascade is best grown in full sun in fertile well-drained moist soil. It will grow 1-2 feet tall and spread 3-8 feet wide with a dense habit. Avoid overcrowding or overhead watering to help prevent diseases. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes and control size. Blooming occurs in flushes throughout the season with lightly scented, bright red flowers that are 1 inch wide and have 26-40 petals. The compound leaves are bright green, and prickles are present on the stems. This rose can be grown as a ground cover, along paths as an edger, draping over walls, or as a small climber on a trellis.
