Sharifa Asma is a hybrid English shrub in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by David C. H. Austin of the United Kingdom in 1989. Parentage is Mary Rose® × Admired Miranda®. This medium-sized bushy shrub will grow 4-6 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide in full sun to light shade. Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil and mulch to retain moisture. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes and to control size. If grown in a container, provide winter protection. The 3-4-inch flowers start light pink with cream-colored edges and fade to white. They are fully double with a medium to strong fragrance and appear singly or in small clusters. The shrub will bloom in flushes throughout the season. The dark green semi-glossy foliage appears on stems with many prickles. Use this shrub in a container, in the border or as a specimen.
